“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new.” – Socrates

To stoke our inner fire this week, we are connecting with our Manipura or Solar Plexus Chakra and the asanas that relate to this energy source. The solar plexus is the region that covers the mid-body and can be associated with the stomach or gut yet is literally a ganglia of nerves located behind the abdominal region at the level of the first lumbar vertebra.

The third chakra is related to our power, our intention and desires. The balanced movement of prana through this area gives us self-confidence, motivation and direction.

Find your intention by balancing your Manipura (solar plexus) Chakra with these powerful, energetic postures:

1.) Surya Namaskar – Sun Salutation

2.) Virahbadrasana II – 2nd Warrior Pose

3.) Virabhadrasana I – 1st Warrior Pose

4.) Virabhadrasana III – 3rd Warrior Pose

5.) Trikonsana – Triangle Pose

6.) Vasisthasana – Side Plank

7.) Supta Hasta Padangusthasana – Reclining Hand to Foot Pose

The prime restorative pose for receiving and releasing energy is suptabaddhakonasana Supta Buddha Konasana or Reclined Cobbler’s Pose. It may be useful to support your knees with blocks or blankets to increase your comfort level in this posture.

To practice accepting and letting go of unnecessary energies, perform Pushan Mudra

or the Energy Pump. It stimulates the flow for digestion, circulation, respiration and regulates and relaxes the nervous system.

Accept goodness and let it transform you ☮️ !
